This book is a comprehensive and contemporary resource covering genital surgery in both male and female patients. The first part is dedicated to reconstruction and follows a logical sequence from principles to practice.
Simple techniques are detailed before the reconstructive ladder is explored, focusing on a wide range of local and regional flap reconstruction options. Detailed anatomical schematics are accompanied by clinical case photographs that illustrate technical considerations well. Useful summary boxes aid clear understanding, and each chapter has a comprehensive further reading list provided. The second part of the book focuses on the aesthetic elements of male and female genital surgery as well as gender transformation procedures. Similarly to Part 1, the text covers the topics in a well-structured format with good use of clear pictorial and photographic figures. All major topics including labiaplasty, clitoral hood reduction, perineoplasty, monsplasty, phaloplasty and scrotoplasty are covered in sections with excellent content. In my opinion, although this book is rather niche, I believe it covers the topics it intends to well, in a concise but adequately detailed fashion.
A valuable addition to any modern-day textbook is a video atlas, hence my only comment would be that the provision of common reconstructive and aesthetic procedural videos would significantly add to the usefulness of this resource.
