All aspects of aesthetic plastic surgery (excepting breast) are covered in this volume beginning with chapters on the management of the aesthetic patient and the principles and practice of non-surgical facial rejuvenation including the use of Botulinum toxins, fillers and LASER.

A detailed and well-illustrated chapter on the anatomy of the ageing face introduces Section 1, which details facial cosmetic surgery including face, neck and brow lifting, blepharoplasty, otoplasty, rhinoplasty and hair restoration as well as fat contouring. The various techniques, indications and approaches to face-lifting, often the source of much confusion amongst trainees and even experienced surgeons, are clearly defined.

Section 2, entitled ‘General Aesthetic Surgery’, covers liposuction, body contouring and post bariatric surgery. There is also a chapter on aesthetic genital surgery.

Throughout both sections, the authors share their tips and techniques and provide checklists which surgeons may find useful. In addition, each chapter covers typical complications and their management. Further chapters discuss the complexities and considerations in secondary and revision surgery.

Aesthetic as well as reconstructive breast surgery is covered in Volume 5.
