Regenerative aesthetic medicine aims to restore both the function and the structure of an ageing skin. Patients are looking for safe and subtle treatments to refresh their appearances without structural alteration or downtime. Aesthetics are often included in the management of a dermatological patient to resolve some skin conditions that are non or partially responsive to standard therapies.

Case report

In this clinical case, two products, BioRePeelCl3 Blue and SERA RD have been used in a combined session to treat a resistant case of papulo pustular acne with initial scars and pigmentation disorder. The 23-year-old patient suffered from pustular acne (Figure 1) for two years with no active treatment and a low compliance to follow a topical biotherapy regimen. We decided to perform a cycle of combined peeling with an antioxidant booster at one session every two weeks for a total of three sessions. This is a minimally invasive treatment that restores the structure and function of various skin components.

The first step of the treatment consists of applying 2–3ml of BioRePeelCl3 Blue to the skin and perform a massage with nitril gloves, followed by the second step consisting of injecting SERA RD in a superficial intradermal technique using a 31G needle. At the end of the session a hydrating cream was applied, and the treatment was repeated three times, once every two weeks. The patient was assessed two months after the initial treatment. Clinical pictures using a MEICET® device (Figure 2) were registered along with a satisfactory questionnaire answered by the patient. Both evaluations show significant clinical improvement of the skin condition from basal time to 60 days along with a positive impact on the patient’s quality of life.

Discussion

BioRePeelCl3 Blue is a cutting-edge, medical-grade chemical peel specifically formulated for face and body treatments. It is an innovative two-phase peeling that contains 30% trichloroacetic acid, enhanced by a proprietary blend of alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, poly-hydroxy acids, amino acids, and vitamins.

SERA RD is an innovative antioxidant formulation, a blend of powerful active ingredients that scavenge free radicals, reduce inflammation and stimulate superficial circulation. Moreover, it improves collagen deposition and increases fibroblast and vascular density, whereas the ferric acid acts as a scavenger of free radicals and accelerates wound healing. Another potent component is safranal that promotes inhibition of the expression of inflammatory markers such as interleukin and shows a strong anti-inflammatory effect (Figure 3).

The synergistic effects of the combined sessions helped restore optimal physiological skin conditions, making it a comprehensive aesthetic treatment for various body areas. The dual-action approach provides both immediate and long-term benefits for skin health and appearance across the body.

We obtained a healthier appearing skin, which looked more radiant and elastic. Moreover, our combined treatment helped, not only photoageing, but also some skin conditions such as facial seborroea, acne and rosacea. The combination treatment resulted in improvements of skin imperfections, acne and post inflammatory dischromia. This study highlights the role of medical aesthetics not only in anti-ageing but also in treating some types of skin disorders which are resistant to standard therapies.
