Hilal Bahia a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, working in the Edinburgh Plastic Surgery Unit, with a special interest in breast reconstruction, skin cancer and burns. He graduated from The Royal college of Surgeons in Ireland in 1991, followed by a year as an Anatomy lecturer before completing his basic surgical training and becoming a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons in 1997.
Hilal undertook two years of research, gaining an MD degree and has published widely in the medical and plastic surgery journals. He completed his specialist training in Plastic Surgery in Edinburgh, and Glasgow (Canniesburn), and undertook an Oncoplastic/Microsurgical Reconstructive Breast Fellowship in Newcastle. He also completed a Cosmetic Fellowship at the Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery in London, appearing in episodes of Channel 4’s ‘10 Years Younger’ and ‘Embarrassing Bodies’.
He is also an Honorary Senior Surgical Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.
